Steph's Background
"I have been a hair designer for the last 15 years. I trained in Wimbledon for a company called ‘Alan International’ and was very fortunate to be trained by Melvin Griffin (who was bigger and better than Toni&Guy in his day).

I qualified in 1993; I continued to work alongside him for another 5 years. I then started as a Senior Designer at 'The Place Hair Salon’, a very progressive and forward thinking company who believed that service and education was of equal importance with providing the very best haircutting and colouring services. I quickly moved on to become the manger of a branch.

In 2000, I become one of two in-house trainers/assessors for ‘The Place Hair Academy’. Once a week all assistants would come to our Kingston branch and receive theory and practical training, this was the most enjoyable aspect of the job.

In 2003, I decided to disappear to Australia and travel around, basically having a year off and partying till late!!! (Yes, I’m still paying for that year!)

In 2004, I decided to up sticks and de-camp down to Somerset where I work for a training company.! I now offer hairdressing at your home outside office hours. (see below)

I always strive to give the best possible service, and I take time to sit down and carry out a full consultation before carrying out any services, this is a vital part of my job as a hairdresser, because if I do not know the client's wishes or expectations then everyone will end up being disappointed.

I will always recommend the best haircut or colouring service and aftercare products to maintain the style."

"I will always use the best quality products; For colouring, I have used L’Oreal Professional for the last 7 years and have always been satisfied with the end result.
Other colouring ranges I may use are
• Wella
• Schwarzkopf

Although I will not supply styling products, I will recommend and direct you where you can purchase the correct product for your hair.

I have always used (both in the salon and on myself!) Paul Mitchell, KMS and Fudge and they are the best around."

Cutting
I always prefer to see the hair in its natural state before starting the haircut; this is so I can assess the natural movement and hair growth patterns. I would then ask for the hair to be washed (or if washed earlier that day, just sprayed down with water), this is done so I can achieve a more precise cut and then the hair can be styled. I am happy to show people how to maintain their style and get the best out of their products.

Wednesday evening – after 6pm
Thursday evening – after 6pm
Friday evenings – after 5pm
Sundays – after 12am

Please note that this service is only available in Yeovil, Taunton and 20 miles surrounding these towns. Steph will consider travelling further afield for a group booking.

Rough guide to service times:

Cut and style – 30 to 45 minutes
Colouring – 1hr (depending on length and technique used)

Payment in cash is preferred.

Cutting and Styling Services:

Ladies Cut & Finish – £20.00
Ladies Wet Cut – £10.00

Gents Cut & Finish – £15.00
Gents Wet Cut – £10.00

Colouring Services:

Full Head Foils – £45
½ Head Foils – £30
Partial Foils – £20

Root Tint – £15.00
Semi or Quasi Colour – £10.00

All colouring prices include the cost of the products, however, if it is decided to use an ultra-lightening product (Maji-Meche, which gives the same lightness as bleach, but is kinder on the hair and is not as yellow as bleach) there will be an extra charge to cover the cost of the product (1 tube + I sachet of powder retails at £10)
